that's the way to go if you can find a person that can do a very good job at it . here's a few tips i've learned about having mounts done .
a lot of the replica mounts i've seen were poorley done , they just looked like panted peices of plastic .
always get a few viewings of the guys work beforehand . gander mountin , cabellas and outdoor stores and events are great places to compair a few artists work at the same time . it will save you the disapointment of paying for something you really dont want to show off .
when getting your trouts mounted , ask for replica heads if it's in your price range . real heads contain oils that dry up and cause the heads to shrink while the rest of the mount remains the same size .
if you decide to use a real head mount , make sure the flesh is removed behind the eyes . i don't know why , but i was warned to have it done when ever i do decide to go with a mount .
