Hey there daymere,
Snakeheads are our friends! In Japan, if there are no bass in your area then there must be some stinky, oxygen starved, shallow, muddy lotus ponds where our toothy buddy resides.
Snakeheads speak Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. No matter if the pond dries up, the snakehead will revive when there is H2O added.
I have even caught them under the busiest freeway underpass in downtown Tokyo in temperatures above 95 degrees...... Farienhiet that is!
