[cool][#0000ff][size 1]It's been a long time since I set up on the rock pile. I seem to remember it is a good mile from shore. That is do-able with a well designed tube and good fins. Although we may force you to go barefooted.[/size][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][size 1]BLM was thinking about ferrying out the tubers in the boat and launching from the boat. Can do, but difficult for spastic old guys like me...carrying a bit too much ballast. It is even worse trying to get back out of tubes into a boat.[/size][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][size 1]You can hitch a tow, if you have the proper tie-off on the tube and the boat doesn't play funny and try to get you skipping on the wake. Float tubes do not make good wake boards.[/size][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][size 1]I have gone back and forth across Deer Creek without mishap. I have also tubed some large areas of Powell and in the ocean. Anybody in good shape, with good equipment, should be able to make the rock pile. The big factor will be wind...or lack of it.[/size][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][size 1]The other thing is that the fish can also be shallow, and not even out on the rock pile. There are a lot of macks, cuts and whitefish taken not too far offshore at that time of year. In fact, you can have a field day with finesse jigging in shallow water.[/size][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][size 1]I'll be interested in seeing your plans for the canopy for your boat. Were you planning on setting up some rod tubes upstairs, like on the big game fishing boats?[/size][/#0000ff]
