can anyone tell me about locomotive springs
#4
Locomotive springs is a fun place to fish when they are still planting the ponds. It only gets planted in the winter months....usually just until the end of March. There haven't been any LMB in the ponds in a few years, so UFF is wrong on that point. They used to be there, but not any more. You can catch planter bows and carp out there. I've even caught a succor or two, but they are not very commonplace. Most people do well with worms, powerbait, or spinners. I have a secret bait I use out there that seems to do well, but I aint lettin' that cat out of the bag. The main pond gets fished the heaviest, but also stocked the heaviest. You find it by looking for the chimney! There used to be a small house out there, but all that is standing is the chimney! Just west of the chimney, is a nice trout hole. It is kinda deep, and the fish like to hang out there. There is a little "jetty" that sticks out into the pond, and it is just right in front of it.

As far as camping goes, you can camp out there, but there is no shade (unless you are under some sagebrush), and the bugs can get quite bad. But it is an easy drive and a fun place to fish. If you are only going out for an overnighter, it should be fine.

Good luck, and have fun.
