I think Rapala recommends that using a "Loop Knot" allows the plug to swim better. The hot anglers that use the latest swim baits all tie a loop directly to the eyelet of the lead head and swear it helps the action. Many of the bill fishermen are using the "Loop Knot" as their main knot on the live mackerel hooks.
