I decided to fast forward next year to later this month. The task of doing the work myself is not really that bad but as I said I'm not ready to put my knees to the challenge of certain positions. Made an appt after calling a couple of shops finding the second call yielded a $230 cheaper price tag for the labor. I'm supplying the parts, after discussing what I have no other parts are needed.

If you are having someone else do the work, no reason to wait. I too found out that looking for other mechanics, to do the work, can save you hundreds. Always a good idea to shop around for the best deals.
