Took the Last Train to Clarksville (Echo)

My brother and I were on Echo Wednesday, 6:30 am launch, air temp 37.  Couldn't get a water temp.  Started by heading south on the east side.  Should have had a bowfishing setup for all the carp rolling. Trolling motor conked out at Grass creek so motored over to the west side and found one pocket out of the wind in 22 feet of water.  Spent the next four hours on Perch most in the 9 to 10 inch range a few up to 12 and 1 15 inch smallie.  Several boats on the lake, a few trolling most looked like they were parked on Perch.  Did see a couple decent trout being cleaned at the cleaning station as we left at Noon.  One ski boat showed up about 9:30 stayed an hour and left.
Was on Rock Port on Monday 10/6, 37 degree air temp at launch, 55 degree water temp.  Wanted to find perch but too much breeze with no spot lock, so just trolled (2.5 MPH) for trout.  Caught and released a couple dozen in the 14 - 16 range, couple at 20.  All chunky and healthy.  We were the only boat on the lake.
Hoping for an early good ice season for both lakes.

How were the ramp conditions at Rockport?  A few weeks ago it was so horizontal down at the water that we struggled to get on & off.

Hey Perch..good to hear you're out hitting Echo, and nice to hear you're still finding some good size perch..hope you left a few for when we get some ice this season..I just ain't a bass man...were you seeing any boats off shore trolling? or hearing any success from the trollers?

Nearly a dozen boats trout trolling, tho one guy we talked to was getting crappie on little crankbaits down on the S end.

The ramp conditions were about the same that you found, not bad for us as we are fishing out of 17 ft duck boat with a mud motor and an old Minnkota 55 endura trolling motor.
