For those on the Pineview water system, it will be shut off on Oct 1st this year. I was curious how I did this year,, so I called them up yesterday. I figured even those I have lowered my usage this year, I might still be using too much because I water every day, because I have a garden and just about every station has a connection that goes to one of my garden beds. The lady that answered said they are suppose to send out notices at the half way, three quarter point and end of the season, informing us where we stand on our water use. Well I never received any letters but found out that I was at 116 % of my water allotment for the year. I of course ask my I never received any letters and she gave we all sorts of reasons but the bottom line was, she did not think they would do anything this late in the season but if they did shut it off, it would cost $500 dollars to get it turned back on. $500 dollars just to turn on a line, I was outraged at that because there should be no reason it should be so high and I told her that, she said it would take someone to come out and manually shut it off but unless they are making $500 an hour that was crazy and there was no way they could justify that crazy price, just to close and open a valve. I guess by next year I'll have to connect all my garden boxes on one line and quit watering my yard so much, so I can continue to water my garden, at the same rate. Have any of you had any problems with your metered water this year, did you receive any letters this year about your usage? I'd like to here about your experiences, just to see what is really going on around me, thanks.
Curt we haven't seen anything about that either , and I also water my garden everyday and my yard. Seems strange.
