Slab crappie at Pineview

We haven't fished PV since they closed the Port ramp and moved their operation to Anderson Cove back in 2023, and started charging 23 dollars to launch there after the regular season ends in Sept. On Sunday I found out that they finally dropped their price to $13, so we decided to give it a try today. We launched around 7:30am and headed over to an area we have done well at, between Browning point and Cemetary point. We started trolling as soon as we started marking fish. We put our downrigger balls down at 30 to 35 ft trolling at 1.5 mph. We caught a few crappie and perch but it was slow, so we started moving East, finding better groups of fish at 20'. For the next few hours, we were catching doubles, triples, even quad crappie, at the same time, the action was insane. Most of the crappie were around 10 to 10.5 but we managed 4 that were 12". We were also catching perch that were around 9". We finally decide to start trolling toward the Port ramp, as we headed in that direction, we saw a young bull moose come down to the water's edge for a drink, it was pretty cool because of that busy highway, not far from there. I would have never expected to see a moose there, especially that time of the day. Not long after that we got another double hookup but this time they both turned out to be bass. Once we got to the other side, just out from the ramp we caught a few more crappie but it was way slower. We continued toward the narrows and pick up a bluegill but the action slowed way down and we only picked up a few more crappie after that, so we headed in around 1pm. As we were leaving the wake boats were showing up in numbers, so we were glad we were leaving. Water temp got up to 69 degrees before we left. Hopefully as the temps cool those wake boats will stay away.
