Fished solo from 6:30 to 11-ish. 45-deg air, 68-water, and just the right amount of ripple. Only 2-3 tuna boats until 10am or so. Started on the highway sideSo is the water to Low to launch, why would they close the ramp with months of fall fishing still to be enjoyed. You still have your boat?
below that last restroom pull-out and worked my way north along the big rocks. Bigger fish close in. Nice smallies from 11-16" in 7' or less first thing in the morning. Got a lot tougher final hour or two. 4" single-tail grubs the ticket. Livewell full of crawdad body parts from the six 10"ers I kept. No spitting up of perchlets like a few weeks ago. Got some eater perch, too, but nothing approaching ice-size. Main dock gone, tho single courtesy dock down the middle. Far right lanes of the ramp closed off, but a couple of left lanes still usable......for now. Wouldn't be surprised if this is the final weekend for boat launching here. Signs of green algae, but no clumps or bottom sludge like Deer Creek and Jordy, where you have to clean your presentation every single cast. Returning to the scene of the crime tomorrow w/buddy.
