Great post! For several years, at first I was just 12 or 13 we camped at Mustang Ridge, when they first opened. My dad had this home made wood boat with Sears motor. And a 6 man rubber raft. We would take turns. One day the grown ups (two pair) would fish the Dam. And us kids would float and fish the river below the dam. And the next day us kids would fish the boat and Dam area and the grown ups would float and fish the river. I got to liking the river way more. We fished with night crawlers back then and now it's artificial only but I used to do well with Rapales or spinners. You don't have to be a fly fisher. That is World class fishing. Really surprising we haven't talked about it (the River) here on Big Fish much.
