That looks like a good way to use up "dead time".  Oh yeah, I like that fire tiger wrap on the next to last pic.  I used to have a rod like that.

Pat, I was hoping you would spot that rod, its a good one with lots of good fishing JU JU on it. It travels with me and I have been getting good use of it this spring and summer. That rod/reel combo is a Tube Dude custom rod I acquired from Pat when he hung up his Tube last winter. It cast like a dream, with great sensitivity fast action and a solid backbone. The reel has Nanofil line that is so smooth and I'm not changing or replacing it, I plan on switching to the spare spool when I either wear  out or loose all the line on the one on the reel now.

Happy to hear it is serving you well.  It was one of my faves.  

Making my own rods gave me the advantage of having exactly the length, strength and action I preferred...for the type of fishing I did most.  Too many anglers settle for what is on sale...or whatever the dimbulb in the tackle department tells them what they want.

And Mildog...I'm gonna guess I got at least a dozen fish on that rod...on many trips.
