Now thinking about it, I don't recall seeing any big groups marked on or near bottom..maybe we were too deep most of the time? Walleyes or bass eating the little ones? I know we'd see a lot of big group marks at Rockport, so IMO there is a difference between these 2 water bodies..I used to tie most of my own flies when I was fly fishing...now 'Garden Hackle' works really good..
The place we mark the most perch, is on the side by the freeway, toward the back, below the cliff there.
It's a long ways to walk in the Winter, so we don't fish there except for during boating season but yes, back toward the inlet. The cliff I'm talking about is right below that trucker rest area.
