Canoe with motor

I have had a trolling motor on my canoe since the 90's
registered every year

here is copy and paste regulation 

• [b]Does my boat need to be registered? [/b]If your boat has a motor (gas or electric) on it, or if it is a sailboat, it needs to be registered and numbered. If you are visiting Utah (less than 60 days in a calendar year) and your boat is currently registered in your state, you do not need a Utah registration.

It appears there is conflicting information between recreation.utah.gov and the DMV. I believe I did register my canoe back in the '90s when I ran an electric on it, but I don't remember. I tried calling recreational.utah.gov, the boating section but my call went to voicemail. Waiting to hear back.
