So...find the perch and the wallies will be nearby. And the perch don't start moving inshore and into their defined feeding areas until water temps top 60-65 degrees. That is usually about mid June. Good places to try then are Saleratus Wash, both the north and south shorelines in Knights Hollow, Juniper Point, up above the bridge in the river arm along the walls, and several areas inside Bunny Gulch. For some bigguns fish the full moon in June on the weedy flats on the north side of Bunny Gulch...between the little islands and the point toward the west end of that arm. Amazing the size of the fish that come in to chow down in the shallow warming water full of perchies. Think big plastic swim baits or jointed floater-divers. You'll get some vegetation (for salad later) but odds are good for big meat too. And definitely less power squadron distractions at night.(05-14-2025, 01:17 PM)TubeDude Wrote: Hey Mike, congrats and best wishes for your upcoming life modification. Glad you found a "keeper". Once the water warms and the post-spawn feedup starts you should have better luck getting your new boatmate into liking the cast and retrieve approach. Amazing what a little success can do to increasing enthusiasm. And your past successes are what keeps you chuckin' and windin' on the slow days...staying alert and expectant for that magic CHOMP.Thanks Pat
Sounds like you are developing a "thang" fer Starvy.
There wasnt much bug activity in knights to bring the little ones in so the big ones come in to eat them, a couple weeks they will move into knights,
Ima tryin to get my "thang," need to corner a biologist and pump them for info on the spawn, wheres and whens, I know the big mamas, pre spawn can be caught, Im just havent zeroed them in, YET, after last fall when she caught that big laker, she likes the Goerge, so I have go both places, between Kokes, lakers and eyes choices can be rough, I know its tough duty but someone has to do it
