Ripping the hook out of the fish????
#8
There is anouther post on here or in one of the mags I get about this topic. Here is what I remember of it: If you are catch and release fishing use barbless hooks and circle hooks are the best because they normaly hook into the side of the mouth. They are also easy to remove. If you need to touch the fish make sure your hands are wet, do not handle it long, do not grip it through the net because that will scrap the protective slime off of a fish. Do not touch the gills or they may bleed, killing the fish. Do not lip grip the fish because that adds undo strain and pressure to the fishs mouth and that could kill it. If the hook has been swallowed and the fish is deep hooked either cut the line or take the fish home with you for dinner. One last thing, have fun and eat some of the fish you catch.
