The first fish I ever caught with what I expected was whirling disease was in the creek on the north east side of the reservoir there. It was so long ago and I had never heard of it being prevalent since then that perhaps it was just due to an injury when the fish was young and it was able to survive and thrive. That sure is a neat place to find yourself, though,

Yeah, that was an unusually skinny cut for up there...but I found some much thicker ones there this last weekend as they are starting their spawn. The colors on them are amazing! I'll be sharing pics in my next post on it.
