New line that replaces Nanofil!! Finally...
#27
I agree with Scott this thread sent me down the rabbit hole!
The most important thing you can do is learn to tie what works for you and do it well!!
Always use correct number of turns , Lubricate the knot and pull it tight slowly and completely!! Then go with it.
I was bored today and revisited knot comparisons tying videos online.  Bit of a knot nerd over the years of working at the fishing shop, got pretty good at many knots. Actually learned and remembered lot today. To sum it up, #1 knot performance varied greatly over testing, some knots varied from 40% to 85% strength when tied and tested by even the (IGFA ) International game fish association no less!! #2 The most popular knots where not the best in strength, clearly good enough because lots use them. #3 for Braid to leader FG knot tested by multiple sources often had better than 100% strength (did not break in the knot but in the leader itself and higher than test rating) most don’t realize most lines break heavier than “rated” unless a “certified” line class which must not break at greater strength than stated. RATED TOP KNOT FOR STRENTGH SMOOTHNESS # 4 FG knot is a MAJOR PAIN to tie #5 there are many ways to skin a cat or tie a knot! I found a way to tie FG KNOT in under a minute!! I had never seen it before and takes a complex knot to tie and simplifies it a bunch. With a bit of practice pretty easy!! Australian guy demos it online. #6 I rediscovered the GT knot ( I had forgotten about it) very easy highly rated and great strength. Lots of great resources online fun to check into and grab some line and practice as it makes perfect as they say!!?
So learn to tie what works for you and tie it right and go fishing!!’
Knots are not to be overlooked if you not pay attn. to your knot your fishing could be all for naught!!
Pun intended!! Good luck tight lines! Have fun!!
time spent fishing isn't deducted from ones life
