Is it going to Freeze this Winter?

Was looking at the forecast today and I'm not a weatherman, but I try to play one on the site and I think we may see some ice finally on the lower elevation ponds.... I know weather reports tend to change as often as my mind about where I should go fishing, but as of this afternoon, they are predicting about 8 days of good temperatures for forming ice.... Not great temperatures, but on the edge where they will build ice over enough time... I'm hoping I'm right on this one, or else I'm going to have to give up on ice fishing for the year... or start traveling to find ice to fish.... freeze baby freeezeeee...

Im starting to feel like this might be the winter that never was. I am thinking of either Woodruff narrows or Sulfur creek in Wyoming on Thursday next week. They are higher in elevation and it get really cold near Evanston. Both have fish I like to catch. Yellow perch in Woodruff narrows, and maybe some walleye still reside in Sulfur creek. Both species in that region are considered invasive and catch and kill policy. I have never found perch in the Woodruff narrows in the one trip in the float tube I have tried there. I have fished Sulfur creek probably 4 or 5 times and have only caught cigar sized walleye on open water and through the ice. Most people are tight lipped when it comes to fishing information in Wyoming. I drove by Mantua yesteday and saw some ice and also big open pockets of water.
