Collapsable Fishing Rig
#2

Hi there Daymere,

Another nice illustration of how rigs are made and set/fished. Spreader 'bars' are being used more and more by albacore and BFT anglers (trolling) here on the West Coast. Japan has used spreader rigs fished vertically for a long time especially for Sea Bream/Red Snapper.

In Japan we adjusted the beads spreader wire by using a thick walled shrink tubing. The spreader was metal so no melting problem.. You can get shrink tubing that shrinks at such a low temperature that you can put them over knots of 20 lb test without compromising the mono!
