A sectioned cut of large pool noodle leaving gaps for holding positions just may give you long enough flotation to retrieve your rubber net in the future. Float tubers love floatable nets, but they can also tether them as well but it's much harder to tether them on a boat set up.  You could also try the smaller pool noodle around the frame of the rubber netting bar using zip ties to keep it there to add even more flotation if need be.
