Now & then we purchase gift cards at the local grocery store (Smith's for us) for Amazon for ourselves. We build fuel points getting up to a dollar off at the pump, my diesel truck is the recipient for the fishing trips I make. There is a section as we all see in many stores as well of the many different gift cards. Amazon has made it easy for thieves to peel off a strip to gain access to the code & photo it, then they put the card back on the rack still in its original cover. I don't know what is going on with other types of gift cards, but my guess is the thieves probably have exploited access to those cards as well.
