They gave me the too many birds eating the planters excuse. I talked with an officer about how many older gentlemen paid for their license , boat reg , park pass, gas etc and they catch very few trout for their effort and expense. The response was about the birds and how Hyrum would be Northern Utahs bass destination. I told him that was a poor response. I did catch some of the largest and the largest trout I have ever caught at Hyrum last year but it was very early in the year and not many after that. I only target trout early in the year but still catch quite a few while perch and bluegill fishing but not last year and I suspect the same this year.
