Good for you, I think if a lot of us fight the ticket they will think twice about the actions they are taking, now that I know you can't park there, it will never happen again but it seems very outrageous the issue a fine that steep for a parking offence. I ask the lady at the office, why not just issue a warning first, if their goal was to keep people from parking there, the same message would be received and it would not have caused people to feel so much contempt for the city. After a few weeks the word would have spread and they would no longer have the problem, I think the answer is simple, it's a money maker for the city. For every one that comes to court and fights the ticket ten will likely just pay the fine. Thanks for sharing your strategy, lets just hope the judge is a little more understanding than the officer was giving out the tickets.
