I have two friends that have the same kind of boat as yours, one is a 21' the other is a 23' and they both have Minn Kotas, you would have to do a little work, if you have a rail in front but they both got theirs to work with little trouble. I was the same as you, did not do that type of fishing much and did not think it was worth it but I picked up a used one for a good deal and haven't regretted it, I even use mine as a auto pilot to steer the boat, when I'm trolling.
