Speaking of breaking off fish, I have had one fish break me this year. It got into some slabs of concrete and hung me up. I tried moving all over but ultimately it broke me. I do not horse fish in at all, but let the drag do its work. I also check my line after each fish that I catch. If I feel even a hint of abrasion on the line, I retie up to a point above the abrasion. I don't use braid. I have caught the majority of my big fish on 15lb P-Line Fluocarbon. I also have a rod rigged with 20lb P-line as well. Great low visibility and very abrasion resistant. I use the double palomar knot to tie my hooks to the line and do not use a swivel or leader. I use a small split shot to hold my sliding sinker in place. Most breaks come at the weakest part of the line, the knot. So I reduce my knots to one. Just a little about what I use. Others have their preferences and really like what they use.
I guess the fish around 10 to 11lbs. Ugly, fat, great fish!
