Thanks everyone for your thoughts. To clarify, we did crawler harnesses, jigs, and even trolled at varied speeds between 2.3 and 2.7 ,flicker shad‘s. All to no avail. We did finally catch one catfish in all these marks. Mike hit On fishfinder stuff that might apply. I recently broke my transducer mount and replaced with a new stronger one. I have been adjusting. Initially I was too low in the water. I had a rooster tail that could choke a horse! I raised it up. At 15 to 20 miles an hour the transducer is skimming across the top of the water and will settle down to about 3 inches below waterline at 1 mph. Very little rooster tale. I also have been fiddling with the sensitivity, have increased quite a bit. Since then I have thought maybe all these marks were schools of baitfish, All put together with a stronger sensitivity setting. Of course I didn’t think of that when I was out on the water. Could’ve turned it down to see.
Anyway, just a little more to thicken the plot.
On another note, if the fish stay put you may be able to see this in 21 feet of water, east of the island, all the way up around the north end. It was absolutely thick All the way. But I couldn’t seem to find any biters in all of this. Hopefully you all will. Thanks again
