So our day started in Benjamin slough trying to pick up a carp for bait or a willing kitty. Neither was happening so we headed to the island. We fished the east side as the north side was filled with boats. We tried a couple spots but nothing. So we pulled anchor and headed toward mud bay. We started hitting weed lines in the outer edges and I literally cast it in ones mouth. It hit the water and and I was reeling in to place it a couple feet closer and line was tight. It got halfway to boat but my drag was to tight and it got off. Boy was I mad at myself. But after some time of nothing we found a cove of weeds where we had 45 minutes lefts til we had to be back to the lunch. After 10 minutes I got my first to the boat. Then my son got one then Jim got one. So the skunk was gone for us all. When the time to leave came Jim went to reel in and his line went tight and he fought another one. None were to big all 22-24” with my sons being the biggest. Which we forgot to get a picture of for the contest dumb us. But we got 4 to the boat and had a good time. Thanks to ice sled and his wife for cooking, Craig and Jeff for the awards, tubedude for the demo and everyone for participating to make it worth coming out.
