Utah Lake first trip

I joined the party at the Lincoln Beach flotilla yesterday. Had a great time. Met with some new people and a couple old folks. I enjoy putting faces with names, I guessed way wrong on a few of you. Good company, lots of quick wit and 1 liners at lunch. Picked up several fishing tips while chatting. Tried a few new foods including the main dish of fried catfish and hush puppies. Thanks to the Chef. Also got a good sampling of Dubobs canned koke cracker dip, something worth trying if I catch any this year. I enjoyed TubeDude's filleting demo. All but convinced me I need an electric knife if I plan on keeping and cleaning fish. Award ceremony was short and sweet, bummed none of the other winners could attend. Big thanks for the prizes and those that ran the contest. I was intrigued at the raffle of what prizes were chosen over others, some good ones got passed over early on. Didn't enjoy the cleanup, but I'm sure it helped out. I'm also selfish and need some Dedicated hours. Also did a little fishing. Launched around 630 and stayed fairly close to the marina. Accomplished 2 goals this trip, catch my first white bass, and catch my first "real" catfish. Caught a couple whites on small tube jigs with crawler north of the marina entrance. Caught my only cat dragging a carp chunk sraight out from the entrance. Wandered over south in the shallows for a bit, but only found carp. Thanks to anyone involved in making outing happen. I really enjoyed it.
