[#0000FF]I used to fish it a lot and stay in contact with quite a few Mantua "regulars". I have never seen a smallie nor have I heard any reliable reports of catches.[/#0000FF]

[#0000FF]My guess is that at some point a "live well biologist" transplanted a few from Pineview. And if conditions were not suitable the originals never contributed much to a big population.[/#0000FF]

[#0000FF]A similar situation happened a few years ago on Deer Creek. Several white bass were caught and it was feared they were going to take over and ruin the fishery. Nay, not so. Only a handful were ever reported and nothing since. Ditto for channel cats in Deer Creek. Bucket biology foiled again.
