I went Monday evening 3/25. Will need a 10' plank? If you are trying to get on at Browing following any of the old packed down trails. There may be spots where the edges are more solid off the trails, but the sun had already set when I arrived to check.
I broke through up to my calf but have Baffin boots so was dry.
I'm super light weight and my sled prob weighs more than I do so maybe a bit more difficult for others to get on.
The ice is solid. At least 20". 5-8" of rotten ice on top the rest is clear.
An inch of crust snow so slush wasn't bad.
Not sure about the edges anywhere else. Suppose to get below freezing again during the evenings so the edges may refreeze.
There were fresh snowmobile tracks on the lake, not sure where they launched from.
Use common sense if anyone decides to go. The evening temp felt like 37 degrees that night. I still felt comfortable being on the ice and getting back off was same situation. Wasn't any worse.
Good Luck!
