Boy did that bring back memories. I also lived on 31st on bever st. I have fished the ditch a million times. Some of my biggest trout have come from that ditch on a old fly rod with heavy line. My biggest fish was a 36 pound carp that latterly ruined my fly rod. Weighed him on the butcher's scale in the old store across from the old church on 35th. My favorite spot was at 31st and 48th just as the canal started to the fields. Spent another million hrs at the duck club ponds also. My years there were 53 through 59. I knew the Warr's and Orr's. Great memories.
