Hey, Ahi, not trying to one-up you but I got interested and did some internet research. In Japan they practice a style of micro-fishing designed to catch "minnows" as small as 3/4", smaller than a nickel. They use special hooks as small as size 30. Some of the best designs look very much like Kahle hooks; they want only the tip of the hook in the fish's mouth. Maybe I should get some and go after those small fry. I could win the small cat contest and catch some monster shiners for catfish bait. I just don't think I'll spring for the 14.5' rod, though.
Oh, they do use small bits of worm and sometimes down to an eighth of a grain of rice for bait.
