I agree with catchinon on ferron res. He didn't mention it sits at about 9600 ft and will be cool in this heat, which is a plus. It is a closer trip from riverton if you travel up ephriam canyon and across skyline drive (very scenic also.)
Another place I think your wife would enjoy is potters ponds , 2 small lakes between cleveland res. and joes valley. post card perfect scenery , good shade, good fishing.
both spots have other nearby fishing Ferron - willow lake, duck fork , Wrigley spring res.
potters ponds - millers flat res, huntington res, Cleveland, electric lake, gooseberry, bouldgers , and benches
Both areas are very good for viewing wildlife , deer and elk, in the early mornings and evenings
