Checking out some more forecasts and I'm getting a feel for how the local ice season could go and a rough idea for the national outlook. I'm guessing January 10th will be the earliest safe ice on ponds, add a week for small lakes and two for big lakes. (just for me)
Warmer for just about everybody including alaska and cold for some of the northeast.
The sustained cold we need isn't in the predictions but reality isn't predictable. We might not have ice everywhere but unfreezing the winter economy might not be so bad for the fiscal year.
Paying to ride in a pickup bed to the high country doesn't sound bad either..
