[#0000FF]Some of those things...like the Banjo Minnow...are potentially good lures. If they come in the right sizes, colors and actions for the waters you fish and the species you pursue then you can make them work.
Unfortunately, far too many of these "best ever" innovations are not designed by experienced anglers for other experienced anglers. Contrary to the wild and wooly claims of some of their infomercials, there are no lures that will catch all species on all waters at any time.
I can't remember which such product it was, but I watched one commercial in which the portrayed angler had the spinning reel on top of the rod, reeling backwards, as he hoisted an obviously dead fish over the side of the boat. For a brief (very brief) moment there I began to wonder if I had been using a spinning reel wrong all those years. And it gave a new meaning to "killer" lures.
