We had a similar experience at Pelican. Fishing had slowed at mid day and you could see the bass sitting along the edge of yhe weeds but they would even look at anything you put in front of them until we through them some banjo minnows.

Most of the fun was watching them react to the different types of actions during the retrieve. Learned alot that day.

Now the Flying Lure on the other hand struggled to catch white bass when they could easily been caugh with a bare hook.
