Awesome day on the Roanoke.

Put the boat in 10 miles from were I was Friday. Headed up a creek that flows into the river for about a mile. Second cast had a bass on. I stopped counting after 10, but nothing bigger than 2 1/2 lb. Caught my first Bowfin then caught 5 more. Biggest was about 6 lb. Wave's sweet potato pie cigar brought them to the boat. I would say the fall bite is on strong. Overcast skies and incoming weather pattern sure helped as well.
