Strawberry Snow

Couple of questions. First, how much snow is on the ice and can you still navigate with a 4-wheeler there. Also, how do the springs affect the ice thickness. I fish around a couple of springs that are about 20' deep in the summer with good luck and want to try it there next week. This late in the year is there any danger of going through?
