...loud stereos, waters skiers ignoring the proximity law...
The problem is almost always the recreational boaters. Just this last Sunday at Deer Creek, some tool drove his jet boat up next to a family fishing from the shore, turned his $5000 marine stereo system up to full blast, loaded up a playlist of crappy 80s music and sat there. Didn't take long for the dad from the shore to start yelling, I could hear the resulting argument all the way across the lake and this was north of the dam, not the Wallsburg arm. Argument ended, tool tore up and down the lake in front of both of us 3-4 times and left. The problem is that given a tiny bit of freedom, idiots will screw up everything for everyone just because they can, and the perfect solution is a boating license in my opinion. Then ticket people for every example of reckless driving. A noise ordinance would be great too, we'd never tolerate music being played that loud anywhere else, why is it allowed exclusively on any large body of water?
Where else can a punk kid borrow daddys 70k truck, hook it up to daddys 100k surf boat, and take it out on the lake for the day with zero boating education.

Rarely do I see anyone under 30 being a true moron on the water, it seems to be reserved for guys in their 40s overcompensating for something.
