I put a small one (made for 25hp motors) on my 15 HP Merc on my 14 ft. Lund. Works great. I can run at .5 without having to cut the throttle back so far that the motor lugs and dies. They come with 2 positions, full up or full down. I cut a notch in between those 2 positions and can run it at about a 45 degree down. Lets me troll a steady 1.0 to 2.5, no problem.
