Good to know we have a local rod builder. I let my friend know and he may contact you. I just bought an ice pole from Perch Assault in Kalispell, MT. Mine is a 32" with large eyelets and a plastic/rubber handle. The price beat Cabelas and Sportsman's ($23) and had the arrangement of the eyelets as I wanted them. My son in Bozeman put me onto these rods and he is really sold on them.
