This is for a Minkota charger but still gives good info. I’ve highlighted the high point or you can do a control F to limit it’s search for “extension”.

Ah-Haa ... now I see why I was Confused ...

In the pdf document that you attached it also says, "[#0000ff][/#0000ff][#0000ff]The charger is equipped with an electric AC power cord with a grounded plug[/#0000ff]." And so you-all were assuming that I was referring to plugging an extension cord into that AC cord on the charger.

For some reason, I just assumed that all on-board chargers did NOT come with an AC power cord. I "assumed" that they were all like mine that are designed to install an "outlet" (or inlet as it were) to plug an extension cord into.

Here is a picture of where I have to plug an extension cord into my charger's inlet:

On the back-side of that wall is where I have my charger installed. Notice the black inlet plug mounted off to the right of the charger. That is the back side of the wall where I plug the extension cord into.

But anyway, I plan to, someday, invest in one of those pricy extension cords that you provided a link to. I wouldn't want my charger to go south on me because of using the wrong extension cord.

Meanwhile, I have to laugh at how "assumptions" can keep two people thinking in two different directions.

Good conversation Trevor ... thanks.

HA HA, to funny. Crazy that even with my charger made by the same manufacture, the installation and configuration is totally different. My charger never came with the through haul plug or outlet to plug an extension cord into. Mine just has a 6’ AC cord that’s supposed to plug directly into a wall outlet. Glad to know we’re both going to be safe tonight and not burn our houses down or fry our chargers.

On a completely different note I plan on hitting the berry the day after thanksgiving. I prefer to fish with braid so I’m going to give your WD trick a try. Line freeze has been a problem now for the last four weeks as one might guess. Not a big fan of mono so thanks!
