Dunno how to copy it & get it posted here but I just saw a video of big catfish stalking , grabbing and eating pigeons. The headline is on the MSN web page about halfway down.
Attn: TubeDude
Think this'll work on them UL cats?

[cool][#0000ff]Yep. Wels catfish. They are in several of the big European rivers...especially Spain and Italy...where they reach over 300 pounds. The ones in the video look like mere teenagers. Larger specimens have been caught with sizable whole critters in them, like dogs and cats. Even reported to slurp up human kids.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Might not be too hard to tie up a pigeon "emerger" pattern. But you would get a hernia trying to cast it on the 50 weight rod you would need to sling it.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Maybe that would work on some of those big flatheads and blue cats that are in Utah Lake.[/#0000ff]

I've actually seen that first hand. Also saw a northern grab a swallow that was cruising the surface picking up emerging insects. The swallow dipped to get a bug, splash, no more swallow. My cousins husband was fishing with me and he asked, "did you see what I think I just saw?" I was hesitant to say anything for fear he'd think I was nutty.

That's cool, I'd love to see that first hand. I have some friends who caught about a 6lb largemouth that vomited up a bunch of ducklings in the bottom of their boat. They showed me some photos. It was grotesquely awesome.
