		Hey there guys,
A new week has started. Period is from 8/20 to 8/26

 Southern California Saltwater

Report for August 20, 2003 (Wednesday)

 Way Up North- Avila
A few albies caught as well as the usual rockfish bonanza.

 Up North- Channel Islands
The bass bite has slowed but WSB are again prominent in the counts.

 LA Area- Catalina Island
Calicos, Sand Bass and Barracuda pop up just enough to get the anglers hopes up and then disappear again. This is true from MDR to Newport.

 Further South- San Clemente
I suspect that Dana Wharf and Newport Landing have boats going to San Clemente and this is reflected in their six-pac and charter boats getting yellow counts.

 San Diego- Albacore and Local
Albie counts still very good with fish as close at 20 nautical miles from Point Loma. Local fishing is see a few yellows as well as the usual bass and barracuda.

 LA Local
Boats like the Redondo Special and Victory are taking advantage of the bass and barracuda bites close to home at Horseshoe Kelp or Huntington Flats while others are venturing out to Catalina for a so so bite. Water at the island is a whopping 71 degrees.

		Hey there guys,

 Southern California Saltwater

Report for August 21, 2003 (Thursday)

Lots of albacore but the real news is all the BFT and Yellowtail for the all-day and overnighters!

Blue Horizon with 14 got only 5 albacore oh ya and only 66 BFT!!!! ha ha

Overnights everywhere are doing really well!

 Way Up North- Avila
 Lots of albacore.

 Up North- Channel Island
Lots of rockfish but nothing else spetacular. rockfish always good this time of year.

 LA Area- Catalina Island
Fishing has been a bit down but yellows are just about to bust wide open.

 Further South- San Clemente
With fuel prices up I'm suprised anyone goes to Clemente but I understand a number of boats are scoring well on the yellows there.

 San Diego- Local and Albacore
Albacore are doing good but the real news is that the BFT are just about equaling the albie counts.

 LA Local
The Sand Bass and Barracuda are just putting along with nothing spetacular except for the really good counts of Sandies for the Newport, Daveys and Dana Wharf landings.

Redondo Special, El Dorado overnighter, Victory, Premier are all doing a decent job on Bass, Barries, and Sculpin.

		Hey there guys,

 Southren California Saltwater

Report for August 22, 2003 (Friday)

Yellowtail counts for El Dorado, SeaHawk XLV, Toronado, and Phantom have 75+ counts as well as a few others. Great yellowtail under the paddys.

 Way Up North- Avila
Nice albie counts for ALL 3 landings.

 Up North- Channel Island
Rockfish everywhere with a few sand bass thrown in.

 LA Area- Catalina Island
Calicos, Barracuda and a nice look at lots of yellows under the paddys.

 Further South- San Clemente
With the yellow counts coming out of some of the south coast landings, the yellows must be biting in the vicinity.

 San Diego- Albacore and Local
Albacore a little slow today but that is made up with the nice yellow counts and locally a very nice surge in Sand Bass counts.

 LA Local
Sand Bass counts very good for Davey's, Dana, and Newport otherwise some boats got sand bass or sculpin limits.

		Hey there guys,

 Southern California Saltwater

 Report on August 23, 2003

Local day and 3/4 day boats going crazy with yellowtail!

 Way Up North- Avila
 Rockfish and a few Albies

 Up North- Channel Islands
Lots of Rockfish a few WSB.

 LA Area- Catalina Island
Catalina is bustin' open with tons of yellowtail and Albies out further are being loaded up to on boats including: Pierpoint, El Dorado, Toronado, Tracer, Aztec, Rail Time, and many, many more.

 Further South- San Clemente
Kinda hazy just where the fish are being taken but if there is paddy around you know there is yellows under them.

 San Diego- Local and Albacore
Albies a little slow today but yellows and the fantastic local sand bass bite make up for it.

 LA Local
The good sand bass bite today was on the south coast with Davey's, Dana, and Neport doing the honors. Landing up further north did OK but not as good as they might have with the increase in passengers on Saturday.
