		Great pictures !
Dont worry about not getting anything this time. Thats how it goes sometimes and also it was full moon.......
Try some raw shrimp next time.
I used to fish that harbor with shrimp and did good.
Thank you for sharing.

Man if I could go after halibut in a pontoon or tube I would give up hunting. How big do the halibut need to be to keep them? Ron

Halibut's have to be 22 inches to keep. Not long ago I brought home a nice 26inch model for the same spot. Fishing has been slow there but hopefully it will pick up soon.

I have caught them in Alaska. I would do them in a toon or tube in a heart beat. Ron

The Alaska ones make the ones here look like bait.[unimpressed]

It's fun being out on the tube targeting them thats for sure.

I wouldn't want to hook up with an "Alaska" sized halibut in a tube, it would tow me out to sea somewhere and thumb his nose at me before he left me for the sharks!
But I bet that 26 incher was a blast!

That would be pretty nutty to float tube Alaska Hali's.[laugh]

The 26inch was fun, too bad it was from my kayak. Still fun on 10lbs line and live bait.

When I was in Alaska I landed a few in the 40 to 50 pound range. I had one that the guide said was over 300 but lost it at the side of the boat. My son landed one in Alaska this year that was 120 on a halibut rod and one that was ovewr 75 on a Salmon rod. I tried to get thew Guide to find me a tube or toon to let me try some big water with. HE was a little more than worried so he would not do it.
To be honest I think that in a pontoon a 50 pound halibut would be a hand full but VERY doable. A float tube? I don't know that might be too much but with the drag set right I think anything is doable.
At some point either this fall or next spring I am going after sturgeon on my pontoon. Ron

Sounds like fun out in Alaska. That would have been one hell of an experience if you would have got ahold of a tube or toon out there. I don't know a 50lbs hali is huge especially on a tube. The Ca state record for a hali is something like 57lbs so a 50lber would be gnarly, it's also tough to find them that big.
