Deck chair in FC4 - Update with pics

Well I have to say that adding the deck chair to FC4 makes for one comfy ride. Just a bit higher out of the water and way nicer on the back!

Notice that the deck chair just about doubles the height of the back rest.



So out on the lakes we went (my buddy with an ODC 420 wants a deck chair add on too now). I didn't notice any difference in manoverability or honestly any change in the "catch of the wind" with the high back chair, and I didn't notice the tube any less stable or tippy (which isn't an issue anyway) just lots of comfort which allowed me to stay in the seat for 5 hour straight on day 2 of my little weekend trip.

Managed to hook into a bunch of small trout, which always put up a good little fight.







Even managed to land and nice 2 lber



Thanks to all you guys who venture outside the box to modify your tubes, I really appreciate it and really have to say that adding the high back deck chair makes for a way comfy ride.

Ya I live in a purdy part of the world! This is Central British Columbia, Canada, home to nearly 3000 lakes many of which don't have names and all trout lakes. Many smaller lakes which is great for us tubers []

If you went with the chair in your original post, the back moves, correct.
That when you cut the legs off, the arm rest went with the legs, but the back can fold forward and backward, right?
This would make for a much more personalized ride than the formed seats like Albino's.
You should be able to adjust how straight up and down you are by the seat side straps, if this is what you are using.

I have two of those chairs (in which I have no desire to cut...LOL) but they are VERY comfortable. More so than the little molded ones for me.

You nailed it as to why I went with this chair versus a rigid ones. I found that as the day went on, I could adjust the FC4 seat straps and lean back a bit more or I could crank them up to sit up straight like my mama use to tell me.

These chairs come apart and I didn't have to cut the legs at all. My original plan was to keep the arm rests but to do that required the upper portion of the legs to remain and the tube width didn't allow for it. So I did loose the arm rests, though I think I may be able to add a bent arm support which could just sit on the chair seat and clip the arm rests back on..... might make a trip to HD for some PVC.....[]

I'm sure your family will afford you some quality time on the lake(s) if you make the trip up for a visit [] Besides, they are family right, easier to ask for forgiveness than permission [angelic]

Very nicely done. Ahhhh BC, last time I was there was in 1991. I spent six months in the Cranbrook, Nelson, and Trail areas. Great country.
