Looks like I am the latest victim of the PVC virus. After losing an ultralight to the depths of Utah Lake I decided to do some research and make some modifications to the old U boat float tube. Thanks in part to the diligence of Tube Dude and several others who have posted here in this forum I was able to gain the confidence to tackle my own PVC project. With plans in hand I made a trip to Lowes and also to REI for some shock cord. This is my first attempt at "Pimp My Tube" so I have dubbed it version 1.0. Using my miter saw and trusty Dremel tool this is what I have come up with so far. I plan on doing a field test this Sunday at either the Knolls or maybe closer at the Bubble Up.
Thanks

Besure to secure the PVC together with some short self- drilling screws, because they can come apart and then besure to secure the whole system to those D-rings so that the whole things doesn't slip out and everything goes down.

Looks good. I hope the setup and fishing is good Sunday.

Looks good but I have to agree they need to be secured to the tube a little better. Let us know how they work out.

[cool][#0000ff]Nice lookin' 1.0 project. But, I will also echo the suggestion to secure it better. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I am sure you will make modifications as you fish it a few times and get in touch with the realities.[/#0000ff]

Thanks for all the support guys. The PVC is all glued up and i will be attaching some velcro straps through the d rings to hold it on. Just showing my progress so far. The photos we sort of a mock up of my progress. After losing one rod to the lake one thing is certain, this thing will be securely attached!!!!
Thanks
