Got a new toy today!!!!
#1
Well the wife gave to okay to get a new float today. I have been wanting one for a few years now. Found one a few weeks ago at the old Costco that I thought the price was right and had the ability to add a troller if I wanted.I had just got done rigging up the old tube when she told me I could get a new one. Lucky enough the new parts and rig worked out on the new outfit just fine. Tube dude, I really love the PVC Ideas you come up with and had to try some out myself. Easy to work with and change up. The only thing is the wife told me I had to paint the PVC black to match the new ride. I included a few pics so enjoy!

[cool][#0000ff]Looking good. Your wife is a keeper.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Only suggestion I have is to set your toon up on the water. Better fishing there than in your front yard. I know. I keep trying and it has the neighbors worried.[/#0000ff]

That must be the problem.[Wink] I thought it was just me. I tried everything I had. Not one bite. Lots and lots of snags. I keep bringing up grassweed from off the bottom. It was really shallow. The fish finder wasn't picking anything up either. I thought it was just the finder. Maybe your right, I should set it up on the water. Maybe I will take it down to UL and see if I can float around and get lucky for a walleye.[fishin]

Looks great! I would suggest not using the rod holder that came with it though, unless you are going to continue to fish on the lawn [Wink] I have the same rod holder that came with my pontoon and was terribly disappointed with it.

Right on Red...you are gonna love that. I have a couple of friends that have that same boat. Good boat, killer price...
Lets go fish now!

+1 on that rod holder. I had the same thought as soon as I put it on. I will have to get one or two put together to replace it.

Well I got the toon in the water yeasterday. It was great. Went to the LB @ UL. It was a great day to give it a go.
The only thing is that I wish I would not have forgoten the pump, the air temp was cool on the drive down and the toon was a little soft. It would have been nice to put a little more air in. All in all it still worked great. Easy to get around in. The placement of everything was good all except the pole holder that came with it. I felt like I was reaching way to far forward to get to it. It must be a game for some of the boaters to see just how much they can rock you. It took the boat wake well and was not to bad when the breeze came up around 11:00. the water temp was 44.5. I fished the bottom really hard looking for some walleye. I hooked up with on right at the point to the bay and had it almost to the toon before I lost it. Looked like a big fat female around 24 to 26 inches. Had two other bites for the day on the jigs and a few on a drifting worm.
Lots of snags, but I managed not to loose a single jig.
Not sure if the white bass were just just jumping for the heck of it but it looked like some walleye must have been driving them to the edge of the bank, 3 or 4 would come out of the water at a time like they were trying to get away from something. Anyway I hope I can get it down to the lake again during the week, that is if the afternoon wind are not to bad.

I like the idea on the clamps for your PVC. Where did you find those at. I would like a few to change the rigging on the fish finder.

A hard core toon for a hard core dude LOL!!! I got the clamps at lowes. They are real inexpensive and they work great. There is rubber inside so they shouldnt slip. If you have any good ideas on mounting a Eagle Magna II, im all ears!!

[cool][#0000ff]Don't know where you live but if you wanna bring it by the Tubeatorium I can take a look at your craft and the sonar and probably come up with something. Otherwise, post pics of your sonar (with mounting base) and transducer. I have lots of pics from the past that I can get back to you for suggestions.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The two main considerations is where and how do you want to mount the display...and what kind of transducer do you have. Some are simple to attach to a 1/2" PVC fitting and then on to a shaft. Others take some "engineering".[/#0000ff]

The tubatorium that TD speaks of is also known as his garage. Great place to learn the art of PVC engineering![cool] Soon you too will have the PHD in PVC.[Wink]
