My first real bass expedition doesn't start until March and I'm going crazy!!! It's a good thing work is keeping me busy or I may just fly to Huites or El Salto in Mexico, with my Wife's permission of course [blush]. So I thought I would chime in and see how everybody is doing.
If anybody needs some BFT stickers send me your address in a PM and I'll mail them to you. C'mon sunshine!

I tried that once. But it took me forever to cut a 2'x50' hole in the ice. Guides kept freezing up as well. I'll wait till march. [fishin]

There is still sweat dripping off my brow from putting the cover on the boat by myself. It's 84 degrees but the water temp is a chilly 71 here in south Orange County CA. I had to drop a size and am now fishing a four inch Tiki Wave Worm in shad color. Still hooking them weedless wacky but with a #1 Owner Mosquito hook and six pound test. They cast far and sink pretty quick. All my fish were in 18 feet of water this morning but day before yesterday they were right on shore in the afternoon. I kept six huge Redeared sunfish because they are so tasty! All the Bass were tossed back and the biggest was around two and a half pounds. Good thing " cause they are tough suckers. All sucked the Tiki worm all the way down, thank God for Needlenose Pliers. The rest of the country is freezing, it's snowing on the upcoming Football game, and I am sitting in my backyard sipping a cocktail and waiting for some Ballgames. I'm going to strip some line of the reels and refill for my regular Tuesday session with my Dad. He out fished me last week, pretty good for an Eighty year old. If I can get him to go late in the afternoon we might get some on topwater. By the way, its so crazy hot out I saw some catapillers on the trees....in January!

That cold in Georgia? That's as cold as Salt Lake, no chance of thawing out anytime soon though [frown].

yah it stinks though because it was just a thin layer of ice over the ponds, not enough to step on. yah just have to wait till spring..

This Winter has been brutal here in NE PA. We actually had a 12" to 17" (depending on location) snow storm before Halloween. January has been a single digit frozen Hades. The Susquehanna River is mostly looking like Antarctica.

Yep. Winter blows. I once LOVED winter for the cold weather. But ever since I caught my first bass last summer in my girl's pond I hate winter. Now March can't come too soon. I'm addicted and want to catch them in the river this time, instead of the pond. Of course, National Geographic Channel is going to show me all these shows about fishing and especially Largemouth Bass fishing, in the middle of the frigid weather, to get me psyched up to go fishing...They're not nice people. Once I start this year, I'm hoping to learn a lot from my exploits, and come out a more experienced angler.
But the moral here is, winter is not cool anymore....

It was brutally cold and just as slow last weekend, but we're expecting the highs to get above 60 for three days in a row finally. Hopefully this weekend will be a little more productive.

Every time I think the weather is going to change here it turns to crap...43* and threatening to snow on my way home from work today [frown] . I went out on a scouting trip two weekends ago and saw some bluegill swimming around in a local pond, it was better than Christmas! Spring bassin' is right around the corner for me.
